We are honored to announce the next telephone discourse by Vedanta Vidvan Dr. N.S. Anantha Rangacharya. Dr. Anantha Rangacharya is a renowned scholar and the author of numerous books on Indian philosophy. In this lecture he will be presenting the lyric prose poem of Sri Ramanuja, the Saranagati Gadyam, with a discussion of all its major commentaries.

About Dr. Anantha Rangacharya

Vedanta Vidvan Dr. N.S. Anantha Rangacharya is a renowned scholar of Indian Philosophy. Dr. Anantha Rangacharya studied Vedanta in the traditional manner at the feet of Vedanta Vidvan, Vedanta Sarajna Sri U.Ve. Krishna Tatacharya Swami. He received the B.A. (Hons), B.T., and Ph.D. degrees from Mysore University. For many years he served as Principal of Maharaja's Sanskrit College, Mysore. He is well known for his deep study of all the major philosophers of Vedanta and for his unbiased presentation of Vedantic fundamentals, which is a treat for the open-minded. He has had the distinct honor of lecturing on all seven schools of Vedanta at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, including teaching the works of Sri Sankaracharya four times, a feat rarely matched by scholars of any background.

He has authored over 100 books on Vedanta in both English and Kannada, including translations of the principal Upanishads, detailed expositions of the commentaries of Sri Ramanuja, the Tiruvaymoli of Sri Nammalvar, Sri Vedanta Desika's stotras, and many other works of popular and scholarly interest. He is a tireless lecturer and has conducted discourses in English, Tamil, and Kannada without a break for 30 years in Bangalore.
