Dear Prapatti Group Members:

The (Balaji) Temple at Buffalo is planning to install Goddess Durga Devi.  
There are some questions relating to Goddess Durga.  If any of you have any 
info. on the following, I would request you to pass it onto me. (Fax No. (716) 
879 2299.  

1. The concept of Durga (Some say She is Vishnu herself, some say She is 
Vishnu-Maya).

2. Difference between the Shantha Durga form(preferred by North Indians) and 
Mahishasura Mardhini form(preferred by Bengalees).  Normally which form is 
worshipped in temples.

3. Any other details on Durga worship - related Agamas etc.

 Personally I am intrigued by the fact that Lord Krishna just before the 
commencement of the Mahabharatha war directed Arjuna to worship Durga for 
victory. Any comments.
