Ekadasi would be a good day.  Saturday is also fine.  Are you planning to do 
this as part of Bhaghavat arAdhanam.  If not please refer to a Lifco 
publication on Vishnu SahasranAmam that has outlined steps to perform the 
archanA with sankalpams etc.,
