Dear members of the bhakti mailing list,

Hare Krishna. Please accept my humble obeisances. Let me introduce
myself.

My name is R.Jai Simman and I have just gotten the privilege of being a
member of this very disciplined and cordial mailing list. I am a
practising Gaudiya Vaishnava associated with ISKCON and am residing in
Singapore. I am currently a third-year undergraduate studying at the
National University of Singapore in the faculty of the Arts and Social
Sciences.

I have a particular question regarding the meeting between Thirumangai
Alwar and Thirujnanasambhanda Nayanar at Seergazhi. I have read that the
Alvar defeated jnanasambhandar in debate and received the title
'Nalukavi perumal' from him.

But, what were the specific circumstances surrounding the debate in
which they were involved ?

What were the issues debated upon ?

Were there any other encounters between the other Alwars and the
Nayanmars ?

If so, would anyone be kind enough to provide the facts ?

Hari bol !

Vaishnava dasanu das,
R.Jai Simman
