Sea of humanity at Tirumala for Garuda Seva

More than one and a half lakh devotees witnessed the ``Garuda Seva'' on
the fifth day of the ``Brahmotsavam'' at the Tirumala Hills on Tuesday.
The processional deity of Lord Venkateswara, on the ``Garuda'' vahanam
was adorned with precious jewels. In line with tradition, the Andhra
Pradesh Endowments Minister, Mr. Simhadri Satyanarayana, offered a pair
of silk ``vastrams'' to the Lord on behalf of the State Government. The
``sacred garland'' of Goddess Andal(Goda Devi) of Srivilliputtur in
Tamil Nadu also reached Tirumala.

Also after years of problems, the British Queen and her consort are
being rewarded with a trip to Kancheepuram and SriPerumbudur, though she
will not be getting a darshan of Sriman Narayana.
