My answer is NO.

In my opinion, BG and other scriptures should be learnt systematically from
a guru. This involves not just the slokas and their commentary, but the complete
meaning of Vedanta. One should be aware of the 'human goal' before venturing
into the teachings of BG. If not it would lead to mis-conception and confusion.
