Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha:
Purusha Suktham of-course is in all the 4 vedas that say that Lord Vishnu is the supreme god. Purusha suktham refers to the parama purusha the ultimate person i.e the supreme. It explains how Lord Vishnu manifests(creates) the universe. The proof that Lord Vishnu is called as the Parama Purusha in the purusha suktham is the following line:
"nABhya Aseeth Anthariksham" We know that it is only Lord Sriman Narayana(aka Vishnu) who created Brahma from the lotus raising from his naval. Nabhi is naval, and anthariksham is the universe. Aseeth meaning came. Purusha Suktham clearly tells how the world is created( starting from "Brahmanosya mukham aaseeth") and how the parama purusha prevails in all the entities("yath annena athirohathi") and his supremacy("atho jyayagscha poorushaha"). Vishnu suktham and Narayana suktham explains the more about the qualities of Sriman Narayana while Purusha Suktham explains the supremacy by saying the whole universe came out of him. As rightly pointed out by Shri Malolan sir, we start upanishads "Shanno mithra sham varunaha.... shanno vishnu rurukramaha" Vishnu is the wide-strided, omni-present supreme. Learned scholars please correct me in case I am wrong and forgive me for the same.
Adiyen Ramanuja Dasan,
Lakshmi Narasimhan
