Dear bAgawathAs,
	It is about time that everyone  gets ready for Srivaikunda
ekAdasi celebrations  around  the  world. The adhyOyana sEvai will
commence from 10 days prior to 19th Dec. 1999  in Srirangam India.
Same will commence from 18th Dec. 1999, in  Srirangam  USA, ie Sri
Ranganthar temple in Pomona, Newyork, USA. Same will  commence the
same  week  at  Sri  Aurora  temple Chicago. In the  past both Sri
V.Sadagopan and adiyEn  along  with  scores  of  many others  have
written extensively  on  Sriranganatha  vaibavam and as well about
Sri AdhyOyan  sEvai.  adiyEn  was  asked  by  fellow   bAgawahtALs
(almost two months ago, ie., around september  1999  time  period)
to write yet another time on this topic. adiyEn  will  attempt  to
write this series untill it is time to start thiru pAvai in dhanur
mAsa Arambam. The main purpose of these postings will be to create
a ruchi in  the  minds  of  readers  due  to  bagawath and AchArya
anugraham. adiyEn would start the series  by  delivering  a  terse
tamil verse composed by a adiyEn on our  Srimadh Azhagiya  Singar.

Today Our Srimadh Azhagiya Singar's  thiru  nakshatthiram is being
celebrated  all  over  the world. We seek HH's blessings such that
all the obstacles to doing bagawath, bAgawatha AchArya  kainkaryam
in whatever form,  be  removed.  We  seek  HH's  blessings  for  a
prosperous millenium full of Sri bagawath, bAgawatha  and  AchArya
anubavam.

The tamil verses are presented for those who love to read tamil.

Tamil:
Sri  lakshmi  nrusimha  anubava  paripooraNarum,  avar vishayamAga
granthAmrutha  varshugarumAna   engaL  AchAryAL  Srimadh  azhagiay
singarin poR pAthangaLukku adiyOngaLin pala kOdi namaskArangaL.

English:
We the adiyOngaL do namaskArangaL   to   the   golden  feet of Our
AchAryAL  who  is  the  "anubhava  pari pooraNar"  on Sri  Lakshmi
nrusimhar  and  who  is a "granthAmrutha varshugar" on Sri Lakshmi
nrusimhar.

Dear bAgawathAs,

Tamil:
udal nilai siRithu kunRi yirukkum  pOthu kooda kAlakshEba mAnAttil
pangu koNdu paramAnanthatthudan  kAlakshEbam  seyya  mun varuvathu
adiyOngalin bAgyam.

English:
Though he is little bit indisposed in his state of physical health,
the paramAnantham with which he has come forward to participate in
Swamy  dEsikan  thiru nakshatthiram and deliver his kalAkshEbam to
us is the parama bAgyam for adiyOngaL.

Tamil:
ithuvarai nadantha pala upanyAsangalil ovvoru sollum ennanna poruL
adakkam  koNdathu enRu vivaritthu aruL mozhinthathu vinthai mattum
alla, oru ellai enRE solla vEndum.


English:
So  far  there  were  many  upanyAsams that took place. In each of
those upanyAsams,  there  were  several  words dealt. For each and
every one of those words have many layers of meanings contained in
it. HH has  explained  such inner meanings and did his aruL mozhi.
One can say that  such is not  only a wonder but also an extremity
(in calrity).

veRum uNarvugaL sAthAraNa  vArtthaigaL  enRa  nilaigaLai  kadanthu
thamizhukkum, vAzhviyalukkum kooda puthiya parimANangaLai kodukkum

English:
Those upanyAsams held so far, took place such that they were given
a place in history. ie,  It  looked  such that some creations were
made for even making the metamorphosis  for  the  life  and tamil,
crossing the state of undergoing ordinary  feelings, and  uttering
casual words.

English:
The drops of the chinthanAs poured as similar to how one will beat
(the drums) after standing on top of the sirasu of such drum known
as the mature state. Such rain fall made all  adiyOngaL  submerged
in the flood of astonishment. The Anandham that was induced in all
of us due to these cannot be measured and is countless.

Tamil:
bAgawathargalin manObhAvam  aRinthu  avargaL ennanna  eLimai  yAga
aRinthu  koLLa  mudiyum  enRu aRinthu ellArum puriyum vaNNam eLiya
nadaiyil upanyAsam seyvathu engaLukku, ellA  kONangaLil   irunthum

English:
Having known the mental state and maturity  of  bAgawathAs, having
known as how and  what  all  can  be  understood  easily by  those
bAgawathAs,  the  upanyAsams  were  delivered.   Such  deliverance
appeared similar to a festival of symphony  played around from all
the angles (directions).

upanyAsa veLLam padaikkiRar. Srimadh Azhagiya  singarin  upanyAsam
oru soR kalanchiyam.  kattuNNap paNNiyathu kaNNan enRAr. ivar tham
soR suvaiyil adangi kattuNdhathu adiyOngaLum koodatthAn.

English:
Our annal is a spring (ooRRu) for nyAnam. He is a prophet (dheerga
dharisi). There are a few blockades  that  appear on our path. Our
annal makes such blockades themselves  as  our stepping stones and
do a rainflow of examples and is creating a  flood  (through  this
rainflow) of upanyAsam for kaNNinun sirutthAmbu. The  upanyAsam of
Srimadh  Azhagiya   singar  is  a  silo  for  words. His  Holiness
mentioned in one of his upanyAsam that  Lord Kannan was tied up by
the ropes. But  it is we the adiyOngaL who were also contained and
tied up by HIS sweet words used in those upanyAsams.

English:
Our American lives look similar to those ships that are rocking in
those huge waves in the deep ocean. In  such a rocking life, there
are so many studies degrees,  diplomas.  Further,  there  are also
colored  dreams of future constantly transmitted through computer.
There are also "net"  sathsangams  and  sabhas  through which mere
written knowledge (Ettu kalvi) appear. Having  seen  such  written
knowledge so many times every  evening, the  nights  are worn out.
Though grown up chronologically,  still  remain as mere infants in
Srivaishnava sampradAyam. These are the characteristics of us, the
adiyOngaL and our lives. For such  dull   minded   (mandha  buddhi
yuLLA) adiyOngaL, His Holiness showed a path (AchArya bhakthi) and
as well provided encouragement  to do a serious journey by showing
our daily routines itself as  examples. By doing such guidance His
Holiness  has  bedecked  the  tresses  of  tamil  language with an
extremely beautiful "crown" that is filled with celestial gems.

English:
We  pray  that  such  anugaraha  bAshAnam  must  take  place  many
time as  similar  to  this. We siRiyOngaL are so short minded that
we always long  and  wander  for our  future.  We  pray  that  His
Holiness  bless such siRiyOngaL  for clearing all our sorrows  and
that sarva mangaLam must overflow in our lives.

We  pray  that  to praise and conceive Our beloved Azhagiya Singar
(HH's pugazh) and to nurture  and grow the fame/reputation (pugazh
and keertthi) of Srimadh  Azhagiya singar that overflow, countless
bAshais or Languages and Countries must grow. We thus  plead to HH
to  start the upanyAsam.

English:
As a debut (for the entire tele  conferencing  world)  it  was our
His Holiness  Srimadh   Azhagiya  singar  who  has   rendered  the
ever first rain of tele upanyAsam for american bhakthALs  in human
history. As well, the eastern country Singapore  and  the  western
hemisphere America was bridged  up and it was our Srimadh Azhagiya
singar who did this tele upanyAsam for the first time for this pan
world bridge of  east  and  west.  Similar to  this, Our Annal has
creating yet another history now. In  this  world,  for  the  very
first time being stationed in thiru ayinthai mAnagar, Our Azhagiya
singar  participated in a  mega  conference that was conducted  in
Srirangantha temple at pomona nan nagar, that is  situated several
thousands  of   miles  away   across  several  mountains,  oceans,
continents,  and conutries,  on  Swami  dEsikan thiru nakshatthira
vaibavam. This is probable the first time  for  any  Srivaishanava
AchArya to deliver an anugraha bAshAnam by being in their place in
India and delivering it  through  telephone.

First meaning:
It  was  all started with Lord SriRama whose kAruNyam is similar
to thirup pArkadal. With his kariya thirunEni  (Sri Arangan)  HE
was wandering (flying in the sky) on HIS way to  south with  Sri
vibeeshanAzhwAr. En appan SriRanganAthan is  "Azh kadal" or deep
ocean HIMself. HE is that athi athputha  amirtham.  Due  to  HIS
own grace or "aruL" or thiru uLLam, HE took HIS seat and resided
that day in Srirangam. Such  kArmEgam decided to come and sit in
adiyEn's hruthayam  and melt my soul.

Second meaning:
This mind is wavering such as an agitated ocean and this thought
on Sri Rangantha vaibavam started in such a mind. The  mind  was
dark untill now and was wandering. Due to the grace of Lord  Sri
Ranganathan this mind was lit and  this water  drops of thoughts
on HIM and formed into this  clouds (hrudhayam). Such decided to
decend down from today. However such clouds forgot their "uthaya
kAraNam" of those places as to where they have to create floods.
Somehow they landed on my palm today and started to melt my soul
and  pour from there on Srirangantha.

When adiyEn  realised  that  adiyEn  is going to write about Sri
RanganAthan, adiyEn's soul(uyir) is melting such as the uLLangai
neer (the  droplets of water in my palm)(*). It is as though the
entire  clouds (uyir karu)  raised  from  the ocean came and sat
on my palm and that it started to melt itself along with my soul
and  to pour as similar to a  tropical  storm on  SriRanganAtha.
adiyEn  prays  to the Lord HIMSLEF that such "down pour"  should
plant the seed of "rucchi" on SriRangantha HIMSELF in  the minds
of many.

note: (*) It thrilled by many when adiyEn wrote on Oppiliappan &
and made my janmam meaningful. Next when adiyEn poured my  heart
and soul on Sri Amuthan, it was perplexing to some as to whether
adiyEn is switching my loyalty. adiyEn was questioned (anbukkAka)
(due to the love one have on fellow bakthAL of that arrchAmurthy)
and adiyEn had to  explain this in person to some. Now adiyEn is
writing  on  Sri Arangan and it is sure  for  many  who  follows
adiyEn's writintg that this will make some  to  get  worried  if
adiyEn is defecting once again!. It is all  HIS thiru uLLam that
HE makes worthless Athman as mine to wander and loose one's self
on many forms of HIS own.  Please be prepared  for   yet another
series that will be tearing of your heart and soul while reading
Sri Arangan's most exclusive ubayams.

thiru adhyOyana sEvai - part 3 - anaitthukkam iniya arangam

kAuvEri virajA sEyam vaikuNdam ranga manthiram |
sa vAsudEvO rangEsa: prathyaksham paramam patham ||
vimAnam praNavAkAram vEdhach chrungam mahA Athputam |
Sri rangasAyee bagawAn praNavArttha prakAsaga: ||
ananthaA nantha sayana! purANa purushOtthama: |
ranganAtha! jagan nAtha ! nAthathubyam namO nama: ||

  Sriman nArAyaNA felt that among places  such  as Srivaikundam,
thiru pARkadal, soorya maNdalam and yOgi's ullak kamalam (or the
lotus  seat in their hearts of yOgis) the most sweetest place is
Srirangam and hence HE descended down under the Sriranga vimAnam.
Among all the 108 divya dEsams there are 106 of them that are in
HIS ArcchA rupam. Just as similar to thiru pAvai the nool  is an
avathAram of perumAL HIMself, Sri RanganAthan  is  parama  patha
nAthan HIMself. Just as similar  to  how  thirup  pAvai  is  the
"vitthu" for all the vEdhams, Sri RanganAthan is the AthAram and
Arambam and "vitthu" for all the archhai.  In  a  split  second,
probably Sri Ranganathan was even older  to   Sri Aravamudham of
thiru kudanthai, though they both were twins  conceived  in  the
same time by  Sri parama patha nArAyaNan(*).

adiyEn is unbale to even express the feelings going into my mind,
by these simple words (**).

(**)Many have written in these forum on Sriranganatha's vaibavam
including  adiyEn  in the past. This time around it is  special.
With our Srimadh Azhagiya  singar's anugraham,  adiyEn  hopes to
write  some  important  aspects of adhyOyana sEvai that were not
covered earlier and yet provide some interesting  anubavam.  One
of the main intent is that it should  create  some "rucchi"  and
every one  should  long  for  SriRanganatha.  While  this rucchi
also largely  comes  only  due  to bagawath  sankalpam,   adiyEn
is,  attempting  a  little  start as  per  Sri  RanganAtha's own
sankalpam itself.
