Dear Bhakthi Group members :

How very nice to get up in the morning in the East Coast
of United States and see the postings of Sri Madhavakkannan 
on the AruLiccheyalgaL of our Azhwars before going about on our 
activities associated with " Udhara nimittham bahu krutha 
vEsham "  

Regarding his current posting on ThiruppANa nathan , I must 
honestly admit that I do not remember writing about those wonderful and 
inspiring paasurams almost two years ago . One of these days ,
I will print out the topic headings and dates so that I will not repeat
myself . The literature on Sri VaishNavism and the great 
Kuladhanam that our Azhwaars and AchAryALs have blessed us 
with so vast that , we will discover new meanings and enhance
our svAnubhaavams . Thanks to Sri Madhavan KaNNan on bringing
back memories as the AzhwAr's birth day approaches ! I am so
glad that Sri KrishNa KalAlE shared with us the paaramparyam of 
Sri Madhava KaNNan . The great village of Navalpaakkam is 
indeed a puNya Bhumi tha thas blessed us with great AchAryAs and 
followers of that Paramparai . Our Sri Vijaya Raghavan has
connections to that paramparai as well .

On November 4 , we celebrated the birthday of the great AchArya ,
Sri MaNavALa Maamuni ; Utthama Nambhi and Periya Jeeyar share 
this  Iypaasi Kettai thriunakshthram . Sri Anbil Swami in
his excellent posts entitled " AchArya Vruksham " , discusses
the lives of Utthama Nambi and Periya Jeeyar along with other
illustrious AchAryAs in SaraNAgathi jiournal issues . 

On November 5 , Sri VishvaksEnar , Thirukkuruhai pirAn
piLLAn had their birthdays . 

Today , Novemebr 6 happens to be the day , when there is 
a rathOthsavam for the great AchAryA ,
Sri PiLLai LOkAchAr at Sri PerumbUthUr .

Tomorrow , NOvember 7 is Iypassi SravaNam , the ThirukkalyANa
uthsava dinam of Sri Bhumi Devi Sametha Sri Oppiliappan .
We were hoping to complete the MaaNickka Konddai ,
Maragatha KiLI and MaaNiccka Jadakkocchu for our 
most compassionate Mother , Bhumi Devi . That date has been 
postponed to Sri VaikunTa Ekaadasi dinam due to the need 
for collecting some more funds from here and India . 
We are planning to advertise in Hindu Newspaper
to raise the remaining 2.5 lakhs of rupees in India and
raise another 50K rupees from here to complete the 
kaimkaryam by Sri Vaikunta EkAdasi day  .

November 7 , 8 and 9 happen to be the birthdays of 
the Mudal AzhwArs ( Poygai , BhUtham and pEy ) .
Inview of my own tardiness in completing the DehaLIsa 
Sthuthi related to them , I have taken a vow to complete 
atleast the translation of the remaining slOkAs before their 
birthday celebrations are over by November 9 and place 
them at the feet of ThirukkOviUr PerumAL .

November 11 is UttAna EkAdasi . Next day ,
KaLLazhagar of ThirumAlirumchOlai travels up 
to Thottil thru which Noopura Gangai ( SilambAru )
flows and enjoys yeNNaikkAppu uthsavam there .

November 14 is PaancharAthra Deepam .

KoTi kannikAdhAnam ThAtha Desikan's birthday
falls on Sunday , Nov 30 . 

December 8 , Kaarthigai purattathi is the birthday 
of  Sri NaarAyaNa Yatheendhra MahA Desikan ,
the current Jeeyar of AhObila Matam . 

Thirumangai Mannan's birthday is on December 12 , 
the prelude for which was celebrated most movingly by 
Sri MadhavakkaNNan recently with so many facts 
about his life that are not well known .

When one thinks of the blessed aruLiccheyalgaLs of 
this giant of an AchArya , one needs many lives to understand 
the paasurams and the bhagavathAnubhavam of His and
the depth of his j~nAnam as revealed in ThiruuvEzhu-
kUrrirukkai on Thirukkudanthai ArAvamudhan . 

Next day ( December 13 ) is our ThiruppANAzhwAr's birthday .
Swami Desikan's Munivaahana Bhogam and 
Sri Bhagavadh DhyAna SopAnam are great tributes 
to Amalan Adhi Piraan decad of the AzhwAr. Sri Sampath
Rengarajan gave a memorable lecture on the first verse
alone for 45 minutes at Buffalo int he first SDDS meeting
last December .

The greatest of the enjoyment can be had from the writings
of Srimadh Azhagiya Singar in Nrusimha PriyA (NP)  journal
on AmalanAdhipirAn of ThiruppANAzhwAr ..
His extraordinary  insights and the aruL mozhigaLs on
each of these paasurams are appearing as a series 
on the recent issues of NP . These postings are suffused 
with the blessings of a great AchArya , who has 
the anugraham of Sri MaalOlan thru his devoted daily
service to the divya dampathis as the peetAdhipathi of 
the SimhAsanam of AhObila Matam going back to 
more than 600 Years , when the Lord of AhObilam
jumped into the hands of AdhivaNN SatakOpa Jeeyar .

Thirukkarthigai festival is on December 14.

On December 16 , The month of ThiruppAvai starts and 
we will be blessed with the anusmaraNam of 
Soodikkoduttha NaacchiyAr 's aruLiccheyalgaLs . 

What a splendid season awaits us all !
