Dear Sri VaishNavaas :

It is with great pleasure adiyEn would like to
share with you all , the good news of completion
of the construction of the " Golden " Thridhandam 
AabharaNam for AchArya RaamAnujA Moolavar at His temple 
in the place of His avathAram . 

The Thridandam with 10 souverins of Gold cladding 
is now awaiting the arrival of Srimath Ahobila Matam 
Jeeyar from his current sanchAram in the Northern and 
the Western part of India to TamilnAdu for 
SamarpaNam during Jan-Feb , 2001. 

Srimath Azhagiya Singar would be giving ThiruppAvai 
UpanyAsams in Bombay during the month of Marghazhi
to celebrate ANDAL and Her " elder brother " (GodhAgrajan )
AchArya RaamAnujAn. With the fragrance of ThiruppAvai
( ThiruppAvai MaNam kamazha ) in his lips , Srimath Azhagiya 
Singar , the Younger brother of ANDAL (Kanishta YathirAjan)
will present the ThirdhaNdam to his older brother, 
on behalf of ANDAL and all RaamAnuja DaasAs at 
SriperumbhUthur some time at the end of January or 
early part of February ,2001 . 

Srimath Azhagiya Singar would have completed 
75 years on December 6 , 2000 compared 
to the GodhAgra-YathirAjan , who would be 
983 years old according to earthly calculations
based on his avathAra year of 1017 CE. 

Srimath Azhagiya Singar's 75th Thirunakshathram
would be celebrated at Bombay in a fitting manner
to thank him as one of the senior most yathis 
spreading the message of AchArya RaamAnujA 
across the length and breadth of India .Srimath
Azhagiya Singar is striving hard to set up a core
fund to protect NithyArAdhanams for Malolan 
in an uninterrupted fashion for now and future.

Those , who wish to participate in the NithyArAdhana 
core fund project of Srimath Azhagiya Singar are
requested to contact adiyEn for sending their tax free 
deductions to reach HH the Jeeyar. The core fund 
will be used to maintain the sampradhAyic AarAdhanam of 
Sri Lakshmi Nrusimhan and the grantha kaalkshEpams
wihtout any stresses . The interest derived from
the core fund is expected to cover the significant
daily expenses incurred in the SanchAram of a YathirAjan ,
who has been ordained to travel with Sri Lakshmi Nrusimhan
(MalOlan ) from village to village all over India to 
perform SamAsraYaNam , BharanyAsam and KaalakshEpam
in the 600 plus year old tradition of Ahobila Matam.

appropriate for one Yathirajar to present to
another YathirAjar , the supreme symbol of 
Yathi Dharmam . 

Right now , the Thridhandam is at a safe in 
my sister's house awaiting Srimath Azhagiya Singar's 
arrival at SriperumbhUthur .In an earlier 
posting adiyEn has covered the significance of
Thirdhandam in the hands of a yathIsvaran.

It is with deep gratitude , adiyEn thanks
every one of the BhakthAs , who have participated 
in both the ThridhaNDam and the Navarathna SatAri
Kaimkaryams at SriperumbhUthUr and ThirunArAyaNapuram
respectively .

The Unique greatness of AchArya RaamAnujA for us all

The greatness of YathirAjar , AchArya RaamAnujA
has been celebrated appropriately by Thiruvarangatthu
AmudanAr , Swamy Desikan and Swamy MaNavALa Maamunigal
in RaamAnuja NooRRanthAdhi , YathirAja Sapthathi and
YathirAja Vimsathi respectively .

During  one sapthAvaraNam puRappaDU , Sri RanganAthan 
commanded through archaka mukham that the playing of 
all mangaLa vaadhyams be  stopped so that He can hear 
Thiruvarangatthu AmudanAr's Sri RaamAnuja NooRanthAdhi 
without distraction.Such is the greatness of
our YathirAjan !

As Thiruvarangatthu AmudanAr piles up the reasons 
for the unique greatness of AchArya RaamAnujA arising 
from his matchless devotion to AzhwArs and his 
PoorvAchAryAs and the dhivya dampathis :

(1) He is "puhaz-malintha paamanuu-MaaRan adi- 
    paNinthu uynthavan " ( AchArya RaamAnujA 
    is the One , who has redeeemed himself by
    performing kaimkaryam at the sacred feet of 
    Swamy NammAzhwAr known for blessing us with
    the glorious paasurams of ThiruvAimozhi).

(2) He is " KuRayal pirAnadik keezh viLLAtha anban
    RaamAnusan " ( AchArya RaamAnujA is the One , who
    is the greatest devotee of Thirumangai AzhwAr ,
    who had his avathAram at ThirukurayalUr. His deep
    devotion for Thirumangai was demonstrated by the fact
    that he ( AchArya RaamAnujA ) never left the sacred 
    feet of Thirumangai Mannan , who blessed us with
    his Six Prabhandhams).

(3) In the eighth paasuram , AmudanAr points out 
    that the greatness of AchArya RaamAnujA arises
    from the fact that he kept firmly at his heart
    the deeper meanings of " Vaiyaam TahaLiyA "
    prabhnadham of Poykai AzhwAr .

(4) In the ninth Paasuram , AmudanAr gives another
    reason why AchArya RaamAnujA is celebrated with
    reverence by his sishya kOtis: " Jn~Anamennum
    niRai ViLakkERRiya BhUthat thiruvadi thALgaL
    NenjatthuRayavaitthu aaLum RaamAnusan " is our 
    AchAryan. He is the one , who kept BhuthatthAzhwAr's
    Thiruvadi inside his heart and reflected without
    let his prabhandham , " Jn~anacchudar ViLakkERRinEn"
    of the AzhwAr to grow his Para Jn~Ana-ParipoorNa 
    Dheepam .

(5) Through his tenth paasuram , AmudanAr cites AchArya
    RaamAnujA's utter devotion to pEy AzhwAr ,who
    blessed us with the "ThirukkaNDEn " paasurams 
    as another reason for his greatness.

(6) ThiruppANar celebrated in the short span of 
    ten paasurams , the greatness of the Svaroopa ,
    Roopa , GuNa , Isvaryams of Sri RanganAthan .
    AmudanAr says that AchArya RaamAnuA is a great one 
    because of     holding ThiruppANar's ThiruvadigaL 
    on his siras.

(7) Thirumazhisai AzhwAr is the One with "idam konda
    keerthi " ( with fame spread all over the world). 
    AchArya RaamAnuja's greatness arises form having
    the sacred feet of Thirumazhisai in his heart 
    as a jewel.

(8) ThoNdaradippodi AzhwAr , who blessed us with
    ThirumAlai laden with the fragrance of TuLasi and 
    Vedam is well known for his adhbhutha Thiru Maalai 
    kaimakryam for Sri RanganAthan and for blessing us 
    with the ThiruppaLLiyezucchi prabhandham. AchArya 
    RaamAnujA is great because of his dependence on
    the ThoNDaradippodi's Thiruvadigal without any 
    other recourse.

(9) AchArya RaamAnujA has matchless glory because
    of his devotion to adiyArs, who sing PerumAL 
    Thirumozhi of Kolli Kaavalan, KulasEkara AzhwAr.

(10) AchArya RaamAnujA ascended heights of glory
     as an AchAryan because of his deep attachment 
     to PeriyAzhwaar , who was swept away in the flood
     of Bhakthi for Sriman NaarAyaNA and sang out of
     prEmai his ThiruppallANDu paasurams seeking protection
     for the Lord , who Himself is Sarva-Rakshakan.

(11) AchArya RaamAnujan is the greatest among AchAryAs 
     because of his being " Arangar mouLi soozhhinRa 
     Maalayaic chooDikkodutthavaL thollaruLAl vaazhinra
     VaLLal" ( AchArya RaamAmnujA sustains himself by 
     the apaara krupai of ANDAL , who adorned the garlands 
     that her father created for the Lord first and then
     had it presented to the Lord . ANDAL was the JeevAdharam
     for RaamAnujA ).

(12) AchArya RaamAnujA drank as it were from the cool
     pond of Naatha Muni to quench his thirst and
     acquired greatness ( Seelam koLL Naathamuniyai
     NenjAl paruhum RaamAusan).

(13) AchArya RaamAnujA held on firmly to the sacred
     feet of AlavanthAr aka YamunaitthuRaivan known
     for his parisuddha-anushtAnam . AchArya RaamAnujA's
     greatness grew through the possession of AlavanthAr's
     sacred feet as his treasure.

(14) AmudanAr concedes that no one can adequately
     comprehend the greatness of RaamAnujA ( KaarEy
     karuNai IrAmAnusa ! ikkadalidatthil yaarE aRibhavar
     NinnaruLin tanmai ).He states that his lips will
     not praise anything other than the glory of 
     his AchAryan , RaamAnusan ( IrAmAnusan puhazh
     anRi yenn Vaai konji paravahillAthu).

from Sri RaamAnuja NooRRandhAthi:
