Srimathe RanganAyakyai Nama:

Dear BhakthAs:

The fourth slOkam celebrates Sri RanganAyaki's Vibhuthvam
and Isvarathvam . Vibhu means Supreme being , Soverign of
all .In NyAyA philosophy , it means eternal , existing
every where , all pervading. Isvarathvam means having
all the six guNams of Isvaran (Bhagavaan). That is why ,
Sri RanganAyaki , who confers on Her bhakthAs every kind
of Isvaryam that they desire is understood as IsvarI.
She has PoorNathvam as VaishNavI , just as her Lord ,
VishNu.

Sri RanganAyaki's Vaathsalyam ( affection and tenderness
to Her offsprings ) overlooks all of our defects (dhOshAmsams)
and comes to our rescue , as we seek Her as our refuge.
There are atleast ten definitions of the DayA Tattvam of
the dhivya Dampathis . She is known as DayA Devi.
He is Known as DayALu . In this DayA guNam aspect ,
the SaraNYa Dampathis are tulyam (Identical).

Swamy ParAsara Bhattar will be elaborating upon the tulyam
aspects between the dhivya Dampathis , when it comes to
Jn~Ana SakthiyAthikaL , Isvarathvam ,UpAyathvam , PrApyathvam
in Sri GuNa Rathna slOkams such as "prsakana Bhala jyOthir-
Jn~AnaisvarI--"( SlOkam 32).For now , we will focus on
the Fourth SlOkam of Sri GuNa Rathna Kosam :

Saa Na: SrirAsthruNIthAm amrutha-laharidhee
  lankaneeyai-rapAngai:

(Meaning according to Dr.V.N.Vedantha Desikan):

" There are ups and doewns in the world order,
under the dispensation of the Lord, for whom ,
to maintain such discriminaitons , the brow-raising
and brow-lowering by MahA Lakshmi would be the guiding
authority. For that matter , the Lord is accorded
the Supermacy among Gods only on the basis of
His(Him) being Lakshmee's consort. The Upanishads
tide over their troublesome responsibility in this
matter of identifying the Supreme God only by
reference to the imprints of lac-dye that the feet
of MahA Lakshmi have left on the chest of NarAyaNA .
All that for the Vedic scriptures , which are the most
fundamental , primeval authority ( "Aadhou VedA:
PramANam"--Sree RangarAjasthavam, Uttara Sathakam:19).

The Lord in His desire to enjoy Lakshmee in its(Her)
totality , takes a mammoth stature and employs
thousands of arms. With all this , His ability
does not measure up to the Ocean of bliss that
the divine Mother's delectability yields.
His attempts look like One seeking to measure
the water of the Ocean by puny handfuls.

May that Lakshmee(RanganAyakee) sprinkle
the nectar stream of Her eye-glances on me-
this nectar is one that must be enjoyed
intellectually ".

AdiyEn will take up the deep meanings of
the four paadhams of this Fourth SlOkam
in the next posting .
