Seetha Rama Kalyanam at Buffalo

From the Bhakti List Archives

I want to thank Mr. Sadagopan for sharing the history of Sampradhaya Bhajans.
As I already mentioned in one of my previous postings on Ekadashi, nothing can
equal the pleasure of group-singing. It involves every one equally. Presently
we are making some efforts to bring in Alwar's pasurams as part of the
programme. I sometimes wonder how come the Sri Vaishnavas have missed this
aspect of worship. Perhaps it might have been lost.

I would also like to mention about a great Mahathma Sundara Kumar, whose
audio-tapes have a profound influence in turning us all towards our roots.
Please recall the recent posting of Lakshmi Narayana about the need for setting
aside time for contemplation. Many members of the Buffalo community perform
sandhya vandhanam etc., very regularly after hearing and contemplating on Shri
Sundara Kumar's upanyasam. Among other things, the part I like most in Shri
Sundara Kumar's lectures are his affectionate reference to Swami Desika and
Bhattadhry (Narayaneeyam).
