Dear Bhagavathas,

One way to think, or perhaps the only way to think of the origin of God,
is not to think of the origin at all. Our shAstras declare that Lord is
anAdi (without beginning), ananta (without end) and thus sanAtana (eternal-
always there). When we say creation, it creates all sorts of problems.
When we say origin, it only originates problems.

sReshti is not creation, it is pouring forth. It is simply
transformation, combination, expansion and contraction.
pra-jA-pa-ti-shca-ra-ti ga-rbhaE a-ntaH
a-jA-ya mA-nO ba-hu-dA-vi-jA-ya-taE
The Lord abides in every womb
Un born, (but) appears numerously.

It is not if, what, when, where, how etc of God.
Only God exists. The seeker and the sought
are one and the same. Just like the light can not
see it self. Pperhaps an anology could be the
akAsha (space) in an atom. That space makes 99.99999%
of an atom. What is this space?
Is it matter- No,
Does it not matter?
You bet it does.
Because it give shape and attributes to matter.
We can only study electrons, protons, neutrons and other fundamental
particles- but we can not study the space. It is beyond our
analysis- and without it we are pretty much nothing and have
nothing to analyze.
If we take that space (nothing) away, everything collapses.
You and I without that space will probably be the size of a
 mustard seed or smaller!
Nothing is giving shape to everything.

dAsan
