Dear Sri Jagan,

Your innocent query is appreciated. Your interest to learn is excellent. You
have already started:-) by asking these questions. You have started at the
right place (where there are erudite scholars who can respond to your doubts
/questions and those half baked ones (like me) who confuse too.. With your
intellect you sure can distinguish the difference.

You can visit the website:
http://members.tripod.com/~sriramanujar and read the material there for a
start. Also browse the list archives randomly and you will unearth a lot.
You can read about samasrayaNam and other sampradayams.. to great extent.

Our Visishtadvaita system is built on solid authority, namely, the most
ancient literature, the Vedas. The vedas are countless and authorless.
They along with the Smritis, holy Puranas etc. constitute the rock-bottom of
this system. The genius of Ramanuja, and that of many similarly great minds
have built a sold edifice. That is what we call the Sri Vaishnava system.

This religious system has as its ‘Aadharasruti’, so to say, the Sesha-Seshi
relationship between individual souls and the supreme soul- Sriya: Pathi
Sriman Narayanan.

HI all,
My name is Jagan Narayan and I am based out of Mumbai.
I would like to know more about Vaishnavism and about
Ramanuja's philosophy. The question is where do I
start. I can read Tamil, and English. My primary
source for reading is the internet.

Rgds
Jagan
