The online edition of The Hindu says that 38 people lost their lives,
including a few small children. Many more have been injured, and are in
local hospitals. The temple itself seems to have escaped damage, but the
pandal erected for the kumbhabhishekam caught fire, and was ruined. It
seems that proper exits had not been provided.
