SrI:
SrImathE rAmAnujAya namah:
Dearest Srivaishnavas,

KaNNan naaLorumEniyum pozhudhoru vaNNamumaaga vaLargiRaan. (Kutti KaNNan
grows rapidly day by day). Now he crawls and sits. He has crawled out of the
house and plays with sand. He looks up to see the bright moon in the skies.
He is so excited and happy to see (as if it is His toy) and babbles
something, waving His cute little hand and fingers ..

AzhwAr enjoys in the role of yasodhA calling the moon to play with KaNNan.
Even present times, one can see mothers calling the monn to play with their
child. (especially during feeding time)

1.	thamugatthuchutti thoongatthoonga thavazhndhu pOi

	enmagan Govindhan kootthinai iLamaamadhI!
		ninmunkaNNuLavagil neeyinghE nOkkippO.

Oh youthful full moon! (perhaps, it is Pournami day- fullmoon day) If you
have eyes, come here at this place to see fully and enjoy the lovely dance
of my son Govindhan, who moves crawling on his knees, with the forehead
ornament (chutti) oscillating; with the anklets (sandhangai), in which
golden beads are placed making musical sound; and plays with the sand.

He went to play with sand; and now looking at you, he dances and shouts.
Come to see, oh moon! The evening has just come and it is twilight. Hence,
youthful.

2.	ensiRukkuttan enakku Or innamudhu empiraan

		manjil maRaiyaadhE maamadhI! maghizhndhOdi vaa..

[what a beautiful pAsuram!] Little darling KaNNan is more excited and jumps
(while sitting) with his cute little fingers waving, calling the moon.. “vaa
vaa..”. AzhwAr addresses the moon: Oh beautiful moon! My little budle of
joy- my unparalleled, peerless, sweet nectar, most helpful and merciful
(Parama upakArakan) KaNNan with his small hands is calling only you, so many
times.. If you want to play with this dark coloured Lord, do not go behind
the clouds and come at this right opportunity happily.

Last Pasuram, Yasodha said, “nOkki pO..” See Him and go.”. KaNNan thought
the moon would just see and vanish. He does not want that. SuddenlyHe sees
the moon disappearing into the clouds. He looks at ammA and babbles
“nilA..nilA (moon) , pointing fingers at the sky. He also waves his hand
calling the moon.. “vaa”.(come). Hence Yasodha calls the moon.

He is dark coloured. If you come and play, it would be a contrast and good
combination with both of you, playing. The cloud can be darker. But that
hides you. He will let you shine more when you come here.

3.	suRRum oLivattam soozhndhu jOthi parandhu engum

		kaitthalam nOvaamE ambulI! kadithOdi vaa.

Oh chandrA! (moon) even if you have made yourself, fully bright spreading
your cool bright rays all over the world with your shining brightness, you
can never ever be equal to that of my darling sonÂ’s divine face. This Boy-
the most wonderful and mysterious, one who resides in ThiruvEnkatam,- my
son- keeps calling you. Come quick in order not to give pain to his cute
hands which keep waving and inviting you.

The moon says: If He is your kuttan; your Lord; your son; your nectar, so
what? Why should I come? Where am I ? where is He (on the sand). I need to
throw light on the whole world. Look at my bright, cool, rays. How can my
mind let me play with him, the baby.
She answers: You borrowed and begged this brightness. It is not yours. Also,
you become nothing on new moon day. He is ParanjOthi. He is Maayan. (you may
disappear and come back.) . he lets the whole universe get into his small
stomach, including you. He is there elaready on ThiruvEnkatam. DonÂ’t think
he is on the ground. He is at such a high altitude near you:- ) When one
attains the feet of ThiruvEnkata vaaNan, he can get all wealth from this
Lord and have his sins removed. He is Sarva vitthagan- full of Saamarthyam
and Sarva kaarNathvam – says Thiruvaaymozhi PiLLai. [most beautiful and full
of KalyANa guNAs- says Sri Manavala Mamaunigal- for the same word] He shows
His palms and waves at you, see which is more beautiful? You or His palm?
[Definitely not you oh dear moon. ]

4.	sakkarakkaiyan thadankaNNaal malaravizhitthu
okkalaimElirundhu unnaiyE chuttik kaankaaN
	thakkadhu aRidhiyEl chandrA! salancheyyAdhE!

ChandrA! My son, (one who has ChakrA in His hand), stands from my waist
(jumps from my waist), looking at you with his large well laid, fully
bloomed eyes, points only at you repeatedly. If you want to do (what is to
be done) now, do not commit any more mischief. If you are not a parent, come
here.

Not only does He stand on top of ThiruvEnkatam. He stands on my waist too. I
am not able to distract Him. He looks only at you with His large eyes. Get
to know His Supreme Lordship, as he is the one who has ChakrA. When a little
darling of mine calls you, if you donÂ’t come, you are as good as barren
woman. (even if you are blessed with children). Some even if they have no
children, they are very affectionate towards others children. They are not
to be considered barren. Like I bring up Devaki Singam, and enjoy playing
with Him, if you wish, you also come. DonÂ’t get scared by charka and come
with afear. He is here to play with you. Sowlabhyan. Come.

5. azhagiya vaayil amudha vooRal theLivaRaa

Oh beautiful moon! Sri Dharan- Srinivasan- my son- in His divine face, like
the sweet nectar that comes out, the sulliva along with words unclear dye to
baby babble, with incomplete words- he calls you many times. In spite of
that, you are going ahead. Are your ears having no drums at all. ?

Oh moon! You may be looking like full and poorNan. But you are also
imperfect. Are you deaf? Are you not able to hear my sonÂ’s repeated calls.
Even if you are not deaf, hereafter you will become, if you donÂ’t come. You
may not have doubts if this child will come to you and not feel shy. He is
sowlabhyan and He will join you.

6. thaNdoduchakkaram saarngamEndhunthadakkaiyan

	viNdanilmanniya maamathI! virainthOdi vaa.

Oh PoorNa chandrA! The one staying in the sky! When I call you, this boy has
already started yawning. My son, who holds in His large Hands, the chakrA
and Sanghu along with gadhA, is sleepy. If he does not sleep, the breast
milk that has been drunk to stomach full would not be digested properly.

This Boy has strong weapons in His hands as if he plays with them as toys.
He is capable of using them even in his sleep. (Take care).

7. bAlakan enRu paribhavam seyyEl paNdorunaaL
	AlinilaimEl vaLarndha siRukkanivan
mElezhap paayndhu piditthukkoLLum veguLumEl
mAlai madhiyaamal maamathI ! magizhndhOdi vaa.

Oh moon! (PoorNa chandhrA! ) Do not belittle him that he is a small baby
boy. During dissolution (Maha praLayam), my son is the one – who reclined on
a small Banyan leaf (with all the worlds and beings in His stomach) as a
baby. He is that Mukundan. If and when he gets angry, he will jump towards
you and will not even let you go any further. DonÂ’t come here feeling scared
of him; Come here thinking of His sowlabhyam, sowseelyam and enjoy playing
with Him.

When he can not even be able to digest what He has drunk (the breast milk in
the last pAsuram), what is the use of weapons? You may think. No. He has
swallowed the entire Universe and has reclined on a Banyan leaf as a baby.
That form is smaller than this form. He is so mysterious. Come fast. This
Boy can jump and grab you and come back to sleep at the right time. He is
faster. You come quickly.

Oh big full moon! DonÂ’t underestimate my lion cub- Kutti KaNNan, that he is
a small boy. Go and ask Mahabhali what is the strength of “small”. If you
have erred due to His being small, you will lose what is due for you even.
The nedumaal (Great Lord- Sarvagnan ) VishNu is calling you.

This baby is a lion cub. It can roar and does not lack ferocity. He is
YasOdhai iLanchingam. If you heed to your call and come, then you can get
what you want. Else, you will lose even what you already have. DonÂ’t err. If
He changes his form and becomes huge and big, you will lose doing this small
service to Him (playing with Him) also. Grab this opportunity.

9. thaazhiyil veNNai thadankaiyaaravizhungiya

PoorNa chandrA! The entire butter from the pot- he took in His large hand
and ate in one gulp. – Such great bellied my darling son is calling you. If
you do not come any more, it (KaNNan) will take the chakrA to destroy you.
There is no doubt about it. Should you wish to live, come fast happily.

YasOdhA gets tough. She talks strongly to the moon. He eats the entire
butter without our any objections nor any apprehensions that it would be
indigestible to Him. He is our Piraan. His ChakrAydudham alone can tear open
you as if he breaks the butter pot. He can send the chakrA staright from
here ; Not even necessary to jump or take Trivikrama avatar. Come faster to
survive.

10. YasOdhai- the large eyes – dark colyrium applied eyes- uttered clearly
her son’s powers and strengths most appropriately. – About this narration,
the bright place- Sri VilliputthUr VishNuchitthan has elaborated into ten
songs. Those who are able to recite these ten Pasurams will never ever have
any sorrows or hurdles. (Not anymore)
