I have recently joined the Sri Vaisnava mailing list. I have read about Avani
Avattam, Poonal, Sri Ramnanuja's biography and a few other letters. I
benefited a great deal from reading them. Thanks to the internet Vachaspati
Mani for offering to include me in the mailing list. This e-mail is a little
bit about myself and my interests.

My father said to me one time that my grandfather used to chant slokas from
Mukundamala. That may have something to do with our interest in SriVaisnavism.
I am 39 years old, born in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, spent much of my youth
in Calcutta and came to U.S.A. when I was 23. My interest in Vaisnavism was
kindled by Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada's books and lectures.

Growing up in India in the south indian culture gave me several opportunities
to witness the remarkable feat the genius Acarya and Saint Sri Ramnanuja
performed by establishing worship procedures in famous places of pilgrimage.
One cannot but feel thankful and grateful to such an person.
The Sri sampradayam's revealing of the secret of the importance of depending
on the Supreme Lord Naryanana's potency Sri to know the Lord, shows how merciful
the devotees are.

The Alvars life and poetry is a comforting confirmation of the existence of
God and I always regret not having learnt tamil. How the Vishistadvaita
philosophy which Sri Ramanuja preached relates to the emotions of Bhakti in
the individual soul is a source of curiousity for me. Also of interest to me
which Sri Ramanuja stressed, fully surrender to Godhead - exactly what does
it mean?
These are some of my interests.

I work as an Aerospace engineer in a goverment lab in the vicinity of Dayton,
Ohio. My family consists of my wife Santhakumari and children: Krishnapriya (6)
and Srirama (2).

We are glad to be in association with you all sincere devotees.
