Dear members,

In speaking of rites associated with various stages of life, I remembered a
detail called "parasthaanam".

When my father left to work overseas (this was when I was still in high
school) he had to perform
"parasthaanam".. Could some of our learned members shed some light on the
significance of this rite, and its circumstances ?

Also, are there specific "praayachitta"  rites prescribed for persons
traveling overseas (such as us) ?
