The lord says in the Gita that "Masanam Margasirshoham, Rutunam Kusumakarah"
 meaning "among th emonths I am Margasirsha and among the seasons I am
Spring"

Christmas (Margasirsa), and Easter (Spring) are thetwo
religious(secular/commercial as wel) festivals here in which most of us
participate for one reason or the other and  interestingly the months in
which  they fall are also the favorite times of Lord Krishna.

I was delighted to read the additional significance to Margashirsha noted by
Mr. Sadagopan.
