Dear friend:
Normally, carrying Saligramams is not advisable because you can never be 
sure of maDi while you are out of home whether for work or otherwise.In 
fact, elders used to advise placing the Saligramams box in the rice bag, for 
whatever reason, whenever one is not able to perform Nitya Araadhana

The case of pictures is different. They do not belong to the category of 
images (Vigrahams)in which Bhagavad Saannidhyam is established through 
mantras or Saligramams  in which this Saannidhyam is built in.

The pictures are useful as constant reminders about Perumal sans this 
Saannidhyam. Therefore, there is no bar to carrying them.
