SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah:
Dearest srivaishnavas,

17th verse of ThiruppAvai- AmbaramE thaNNeerE soRE aRam cheyyum: KaNNan 
sleeps in such a place that he can not escape without crossing his father, 
mother and elder brother. So girls start waking up one by one.
NandhagOpAlA! Please wake up. Time for doing your dharmA has come; it is 
already dawn. - Should one do dharmA only in the morning?- you may ask. 
There is time for all dharmAs.

You have already been doing great dharmA of donating clothing, water and 
food for the needy. Can one offer food to the people at midnight 3 a.m? It 
needs to be given when one is hungry. Vasthra dhAnam (clothing) can be given 
away in nAndhi function. theertha dhAnam (water) should be given at noon 
when one feels more thirsty. Clothings need to be given to the poor and not 
to the one who takes from here and sells somewhere else.

Okay. You can go where these things are being given away- why are you all 
here?- you may ask. Oh Nandha adhipathI! We did not come for those clothing, 
water or food.
Then- why have you come?
MahArAjA! In your place where you are ruling, how can there be dearth of 
wealth? how can there be poor or needy ones? Only the neighbouring village 
folks come to take from you these things;
They why are you here - you may wonder. There is one dhAnam which is bigger 
than all others; That grants everything to the giver as well as the taker. 
That is SaaLagrAma dhAnam- Murthy dhAnam- Sri Narayanan mUrthy dhAnam. You 
are blessed to have that grandest One with you. That is Sri Krishna mUrthy. 
He is ambaram, thanneer and soRu for us.
how? He is ambaram- clothing. Upanishad says in dhahara vidhyA- asmin 
anthara AkASa: dhahara: - There is a small cavity in the heart and in that 
cavity there is space. That space is ParamAthmA- which is the One with the 
most auspicious attributes (kalyANA guNAs)- those kalyANa guNAs, dhahara 
AkAsam, are mentioned in apahathapApmA dhahara; vijarO dhahara: vimruthyur 
dhahara; - Thus He needs to be contemplated with each of His guNAs. Since 
you are the King who has that Murthy, you please give Him to us.

Also He is the one who dived into the pond where the most poisonous snake 
Kalingan lived, and made that water purest. He is theerthan. He purifies 
everything. He quenches all thirsts. Such theerthan- Sri Krishnan- please 
give Him to us.

soRE aRam cheyyum- He is SoRu- annum (food). aham annum aham annum aham 
annum; aham annAdhO aham annAdhO aham annAdha: He says: food (annum) is my 
antharyaami. He Himself is food to us. He grants Himself as food to those 
devotees- Asrithars who surrender to His lotus feet. Please give Him.

You have been blessed to have Him after so much of penance; for the welfare 
of the universe and the beings. He has appeared for us; for all of us. He 
has appeared in your palace due to Your greatness. Had You not been blessed 
to have Him as Your son, how would we have attained this Anandham? Also as 
per your instructions and our parents', we have come here to take Him to go 
to yamunA for doing PujA.

Nandhan says:(pleased): He is ammA's son. Ask her. - shows YasOdhA.
hEy YasOdhA! Devasthrees even admire your beauty. You are the lamp of 
Cowherd ladies. You are blessed to have the gem stone of cowherd folks - 
KaNNan as your son. With His appearance as light of Ayar kulam, all our 
darkness have been completely dispelled. With that maNiviLakku in your 
hands, all our darkness goes off;  SakalalOkar's anjAnam has gone away. Sri 
vaikuNTa nAthan does not have parents; does not have brother; does not have 
a sister. He is ParipoorNan. However this is His kuRai as well (longing). So 
now because of you that kuRai of His has also gone away. Due to your 
penance, He is blessed to have you both as parents. You are the most blessed 
one to have tied that Parathvam ito a mortar and beaten Him with the 
churning stick (matthu). He is our SwamI; and you are His swAminI. We are in 
the dark; Please show that maNiviLakku for us to dispel our darkness.

Oh girls! You all are older and more matured than my darling KaNNan. He is  
a small Boy. Take care of Him and do not show your roughness on Him and 
bring Him back as I send Him with you all. Go to that place and wake Him up.

When the girls see His divya mangaLa vigraham thet get the divya Athma 
swarUpa jnAnam. How can that be possible? Without jnAnam how can they attain 
the same? Arjuna was shown Viswaroopam of KaNNan then and there without any 
reason.- The same reason needs to be applied here as well. There is also a 
hearsay that KaNNan once took the few Gopikas to Srivaikuntam in a matter of 
few minutes and brought them back when they expressed a desire to see Him at 
Paramapadham. That's why they address Him while waking Him up as: 
umbarkomAnE ! The chief of NithyasUris! Get from sleep.
He does not get up. They recite SuprApAtham:

yasOdhA suprajA krishNA! poorvA sandhyA pravartthathE|
utthista narasArdhoolA kartthavyam majjanam thava||
suprApAtham thava prabhO||
He still does not get up.

Are you making up for all the sleep that you had been missing in 
Srivaikuntam? That is theLivisumbu thirunAdu (Brightest place- Bliss- full 
of luster); This is iruL tharumA jnAlam (drakness engulfed universe).
What are you thinking? and why are you sleeping? We will do what you are 
thinking as the kaimkaryam? It is already dawn and you need to get up.

He still does not open his red lotus eyes. To touch to wake Him up- they 
felt scared;
Suddenly they remembered - His elder brother Balarama sleeps in the next 
bed. They go there to wake Him up and can request him to recommend them to 
KaNNan. Paalanna vaNNa thirumEni (milky white divine Body for Balarama).  
KaNNan's is blue hued dark charming beauty; Balarama smells sen thaazhampoo 
flower fragrance. KaNNan's is Sarva gandham; -Thirutthuzhaaay and sandal 
paste fragrance; KaNNan wears yellow silk cloth (peethAmbara); Balarama 
wears neelAmbara (blue clothing).

After You were born that womb became more sacred and more pristinely purer. 
KaNNan arranged yourself to be born first so that He can appear. Also your 
sister SubadrA was born later. You are so blessed and great. Please wake up. 
Is it not wrong to wake up some one from sleep? Yes. But it is not wrong if 
there is danger either to the person who is being woken up or to the person 
who is waking up. Here GopikAs need to perform SaranAgathi and need to her 
neengAtha selvam (never ending wealth- Paramapadham). If someone is 
seriously ill, we can wake up the doctor in the middle of night; If there is 
a snake nearby, or if there is a fire nearby, we can and need to wake up the 
person who is sleeping as there are dangers in both cases.

What is the danger for you all?- You may wonder Baladeva. You do not know. 
Your brother knows. Iswaras sarvabhUthAnAm hruddhEsE arjuna| thishtathi- he 
had said. SarvEshwaran - Your brother resides always in everyone's heart and 
thus, he knows what is our problem and danger. Just wake Him up please. Also 
we are not waking Him up at the odd hours. This is already dawn.

Further, if there is something wrong with the bed, then one can not sleep 
comfortably. He will automatically wake up. But you brother has such a soft, 
smooth bed- which is You- senRAl kudaiyaam; irundhAl singAsanamAm; ninRAl 
maravadiyaam- You perform eternal ceaseless service to Sriman Narayanan. 
With your breath, your body goes up and down it is like a lullaby to Him. 
Hence only You can wake Him up.

Will he wake up if I call Him? you may ask. - In that place (Paramapadham), 
He is bigger and Superior. But, here in Ayarpadi, you are elder than Him. 
You have the right to wake Him up and make us feel happy. We need to bring 
Him to YamunA and thus, GopikAs placed Balarama in Acharya sthAnam.
