You are here: Sri Vaishnava : Bhakti List Archives
These are the archives of the Bhakti mailing list, an electronic forum for discussing the religion, philosophy, and history of Visistadvaita Vedanta. The list is presently inactive. Please read this note for more information.
Many of these archived articles assume a working knowledge of Tamil and Sanskrit, the classical languages of Ubhaya Vedanta. Please do not let this discourage you from participating in the group or reading the archives. If you have any questions concerning the meaning of any word, phrase, or topic discussed in these articles, please do not hestitate to contact me. I will do my best to help you.

Note of Caution
Different people use different transliteration schemes when writing Indian words in English, so try many variants before giving up.
The archive search feature is not exhaustive. You may find articles by browsing which you may not find through an automated search.
A Note of CautionThe information presented in the Bhakti Archives is for informal reading and appreciation only. Please, by no means should you mistake anything you read here as definitive, conclusive statements made by scholars of the tradition. I myself know of many erroneous statements that are present in the archives, and many others represent just viewpoints, other than which there may be many alternatives. Sometimes the most authoritatively written articles are the ones which are most erroneous or most empty in spirit.
Since the Bhakti List is a free and informal forum, it contains uncensored personal opinions of members. What traditional literature is discussed are summaries of the originals. Nothing here is a substitute for studying the source material under the guidance of an acharya in the traditional manner.
adiyEn, sri vaishnava daasan Mani Varadarajan.
