Hello, my name is Anita Shanker and I am new to this forum. Let me give a brief introduction of myself. I am a graduate student of the University of North Carolina studying Biostatistics. I grew up in states, but my family is highly religious and so my roots in Hinduism are deep. The last few years have been rough for me, so I've been questioning many things and surprisingly God has seen me through these things though my faith was wavering at times. I recently came back from India and my faith and need for spirituality is deeper than ever. Hinduism is so vast that there wasn't any one philosophy that was close to mine. Then I started to read about Andal and my heart jumped up for joy because her writings and her life were so inspiring and I could relate to them. I was so happy to find the sri vaisanava home page and this mailing list. I am looking forward to what everyone has to say! Anita
