Thiru maal irum sOlai - part 13 - Narasimhar sannidhi
part 13

There is a very prominent yoga Narasimhar sannidhi
at the west prAhAram. It is said that this
narasimhar face is expressing anger and "kobak kanal"
that was known during the avatharam. It is believed
that the fire of anger or kobak kanal raises from
his head and go straight upward into deep space. It
is also believed that there is a small hole or
opening in the sirasu of this idol. This is a local
itheeham or belief. To quench this heat and pacify
Lord there is a nitya thirumanchanam performed
everyday using milk, curd (yogurt) and oil and
silambaaru theerththam. There is a trust or aRak
kattaLai in place for facilitating this since last
100 years and more. This trust for the
thirumanchanam of Narasimhar sannidhi is
initiated by vaLLaL pachayappa mudaliyaar. This
thirumanachanam is continued till date without
fail rain or shine.
