re aindu kuzhi

I have been reading and saving everything about srirangam koil and i would
like to know what does the aindu kuzhi for ?I was told that if one can fit
all the five fingers of one hand and wish it comes true!! Also the reason for
the steps to have goldplated cover is fascinating . thank you very much for
