Mani Varadarajan will shortly announce the formation
of three new mailing-lists to handle the diverse nature of traffic on
this list. Please be patient as the mechanics of this arrangement
are being worked out. Meanwhile, I am forwarding messages that were
sent to the list over the last couple of days.
