Vaikuntha Ekadasi question

A correspondent asks:

Dear Mani,

		Can you tell me something about the significance of
Vaikunta Ekadashi and how it is supposed to be observed?  I assume this is
a day of nirjala also.  Is the next day Dwadashi, and when and how is the
fast supposed to be broken?
