SROTHRUNAAM AGHA NAASANAM SURA TARO'S TULYAM THU MUKTHI PRADHAM
YEH SRUNVANTHI PATANTHY RAAMACHARITHAM TEH YAANTHI VISHNO: PADHAM II

--- Sri Rama KarNAmrutham 1. 106 ( Composer : Kanchi Kamakoti Peeta Matathipathi
)

(MEANING) : The ancient epic RamAyaNam was constructed by
Sage Valmiki . This sacred epic is stufdied and saluted by the
scholars well-versed in VedanthA . This epic is worshipped
as sacred by the DevAs . It destroys the sins of listeners and is
equivalent to the divine Kalpaka tree . The sacred text of Sage
Valmiki confers Mukthi to those , who recite it and listen to it .
Those who perform PaarAyaNam of Srimadh RaamAyaNam
attain the privelege of reaching Parama Padham and are blessed to
have the boon of Nitya Kaimkaryam to Paramapadha Naathan.

Today is Karthikai SravaNam day . It is a blessed day , when SravaNa
deepam is taken around the prakArams of Sri Oppiliappan .Let that
light illumine our living moments and guide us .

I am some what saddened by the recent note of Sri Sudarshan, where
he expressed his wish not to send additional postingsas a result of some one's
negative reaction to his postings on Jatayu Moksham . I for one want to go on
record to state that how very much I enjoyed the refreshing postings of
Sriman Sudarshan , They contained a wealth of information and
were stimulating . His kind of inquiries were a clear indication
of his careful thinking and reverence to our sampradhayAm both
at the micro and macro level . I will miss very much his postings and
hope he does not get turned off by some strong criticism(s) of a fellow
member or members.

We are a group of people with different life experiences and what
unites us is the reverence for the rejuvnating and ever-alive tenets
of Bhagavath RamAnuja Siddhaantham and other Vedanthic
approaches . Having served the United nations
and other power centers like IBM , where rubbing shoulders with a
group of people with a strong set of views, credo and beliefs on
what is right and what is wrong , I have come to the conclusion that
there is a need for more tolerance to different points of view . I am
convinced that we will be richer for the dialog as opposed to "silencing"
some one because we do not agree with their views.

I sincerely believe that there are many things that unite us than divide us
as inheritors of a rich tradition . Let us keep the dialog open and learn as
much as we can from each other .

I am sending this note because I feel somewhat responsibe for
the posting on Jatayu Moksham that has led to the events associated
with Sri Sudarshan's decision . I would like to request him to continue
with his postings . I am sure that we can have a healthy debate and still
not offend anyone consciously .
