Dear Sri Ranganatha BhakthAs:

On this Kaarthigai Kritthigai , PourNami day
when we celebrate Our Kaliyan's Thirunakshathram ,
it is my bhAgyam to invite you all to participate in
the Adhyayana Uthsavam at Lord RanganAthA's Temple
at Pomona , NY.

It was Kaliyan , who organized the Adhyayana Uthsavam
at Srirangam by bringing Swamy NammAzhwAr's archai from
AzhwAr Thriunagari and celebrated the uthsavam with reverence
for the anugraham of Swamy NammAzhwAr .

On this day , it is very appropriate to think of
Kaliyan and his AruLiccheyalkaL and announce the plans for
this year's adhyayana Uthsavam at Lord RanganAthan's temple
here.Vedupari Uthsavam involving the great moment in the life
of Kaliyan is also part of this Adhyayana Uthsavam .

On the 7th day of Raa Patthu at Srirangam , Swamy NammAzhwAr
through assembled BhsakthAs will recite " Kangulum Pahalum "
in the role of ParAnkusa Naayaki and beg the Lord
movingly for His darsanam . ArchakAs will bring the Lord
in Kaitthalam and present Him before the joyous
NammAzhwAr. PerumAL will then proceed to the MaNTapam
to enjoy the Arayar Sevai Paasurams in front of
Swamy NammAzhwAr dressed as ParAnkusa Naayak.

Next day at Srirangam is Yettaam ThirunAL, when vEdu PaRi
uthsavam, which turned the life of Kaliyan inside out takes place.
PerumAl will rush in Turaga Gathi to Garudan Sannidhi
and Thirumnagai will intercept for burglary of jewels .
PerumAL will perform upadEsam of AshtAksharam for
Kaliyan and transform him to the status of Thirumangai
AzhwAr and receive the "VaadinEn Vaadi VarunthinEn"
paasurmas.

On the final day of Raa Patthu will be Swamy NammAzhwAr
Moksham after Thiruvadi Thozhal takes place to a climactic
conclusion of Mey kalatthal ( nesam seythu unnOdu yennai
uyir vERanRi onrAhavE koNDAi ). Swamy NammAzhwAr's
attainment of Saayuya Moksham is enacted to the roar of
" MuniyE NaanmuhanE MukkaNNappA " pasurams.

Vaikunta Ekadasi on 26th Dec and the recitation of Swami
Nammaazhvar's Thiruvaaymozhi and observance of Sri
Nammaazhvar moksham on 29th December. The festival will
be celebrated from December 22nd to Jan 1st 2002. The
festival will culminate with the celebration of Sri
