Sri MalOla dhivya PaadhukA Sevaka Sri VaNN SatakOpa
Sri NaarAyaNa YathIndhra MahA DesikAya Nama:

Dear BhakthAs:

The next two days are very important for
the Sri VaishNavA community every where.

Tomorrow is Thirumangai Mannan and NampiLLai's
avathAra Dinam . Day after tomorrow ( Dec 11 )
is Kaarthikai DhIpam and ThiruppANar's Thirunakshathram.

adiyEn wishes to let you know that the pilot version of
the AzhwAr CD ROM has arrived here . Half of the total
work on the project has now been completed now. I thank
all the supporters of the project most heartily.

The conceptualization and execution has been a challenge
to say the least. This pilot version is to test out
and make the changes for the full version.
This pilot version has therfore been confined
to the Life and Prabhandhams of ThiruppANAzhwAr.

Here are the high lights:

1.Cover : Sri Chenna Kesava perumAL of Belur .
  This image is very beautiful.

2.The CD ROM is configured to be auto-loading
to avoid running problems in different machines.

3. Color choices , aesthetics in graphics design
and the fonts chosen are very pleasing to the eye.

4. The audio: Singing of the Taniyans and the Paasurams
of AmalAnAdhipirAn have been well executed. It is a
pleasure to the ears .The voice over is pleasant .

5. The navigation is very easy .The signs(symbols for
navigation) are well designed.

6.The Charitham of ThiruppANar with appropriate
high quality graphics is moving. Special effects
like Loka Saaranga Muni throwing a pebble at PaaNa
Naathan , the closing of the doors of Sanctum Sanctorium
for his (Loka Saaranga Muni's) apachAram , the ride on
the back of Muni to the Sannidhi of Sri RanganAthan ,
the singing of the paasuram in front of the Lord
and the merging of the aathmA of ThiruppANar as
a JyOthi into the Param JyOthi of our Lord
at Srirangam have been exquisitely brought out.

7. The " Tell me more section " has the textual summary
of ThiruppANar's life and Prabhandham . The translations
of the ten paasurams have been added.

8. The three dhivya desams (Srirangam , ThiruvEnkatam
and Parama Padham ) that ThiruppANar included
in his AmalanAdhipirAn prabhandham with their
EmperumAns form a separate section .

9.Now that we have the template work completed ,
it will be easy to populate the different sites
for the rest of the AzhwArs. I have looked at the ANDAL
and PeriyAzhwAr graphics , which look good.

10. Since there is so much material to include ,
we are not sure , whether we can get it all
compacted into one CD ROM . It may spill over
two CD ROMs with six AzhwArs in each of them.

11.We are debating about singing of the paasurams versus
recording of them from adhyApAkAs of well known temples.
Latter route will be less expensive . Recording in
studios like we did in the case of AchArya RaamAnujA
CD ROM could prove costly. We had a budget of 5K$
and could raise only 3,500 $ . Hence we have to
crimp wherever possible , although one would like to
avoid such crimping due to the loftiness of the subject
matter and its significance to the Sri VaishnavA community.

12. Thirumangai has visited 86 dhivya dEsams and if
we want to include one paasuram atleast for each
of the dhivya desams he performed MangalAsAsanam,
it would be quite a task. We ( Dr.M.A.Alwar and adiyEn)
are thinking about choices to be made.

In summary , adiyEn will bring the pilot version of
CD ROM to the Swamy NammAzhwAr MokshOthsavam on Dec 30
at Sri RanganAthA temple , Pomona , NY and place it
at the sacred feet of Sri RanganAthan. Anyone who brings
a lap top with CD ROM playing capability can enjoy
browsing this pilot production .

We will send one copy to Singapore and another to
Middle east soon for the enjoyment of the BhakthAs there.
