Smt Sumithra Varadarajan,

Thank you for the nice postings that you are sending.
Although I do not read all your postings, this
particular posting interest me as you have beautifully
quoted from Srimad Ramayana's Yuddha Kanda whereby the
vanaras were busy constructing the bridge and the
beautiful narration of the effort contributed by the
squirrel towards the construction of the bridge.

In your postings you mentioned that Neelan(Amsa of
vishvakarma) is the great monkey engineer who is
planning the construction of the bridge.

I assume it was a typing error. It was not NEELAN but
NALAN who as an amsa of Vishvakarma who engineered the
contruction of the bridge. Neelan however, an amsa of
agni deva.

This is confirmed in Valmiki Ramayana, even in Bala
kanda Chapter 17 as follows:-

The Lord of Wealth mangement, Kubera's son is
Gandhamaadana, the effulgent monkey, while
Vishvakarma, the Divine Architect procreated the great
monkey called Nala. The bright son of Agni, God of
Fire is Neela whose blaze is fire-like and in
resplendence, reputation and courage... he is a
meritorious monkey.
