>Prahladan says vandanam to be one of the nava vidha bhakthi. We >may wonder
what is so difficult in vandanam.

Srimad Bhagavatham says, not sure, in which chapter,

This nine types of devotion are
             Shravana, Kirtana, Smarana, Padasevena,
             Archana, Vandana, Dasya, Sakhyam, Atmanivedanam

             shravana - parIxit
             kIrtana - Shuka maharshhi
             smaraNa - Prahlada
             pAdasevana - Laxmi
             archana - pR^ithu (king)
             vandana - akrUra
             dAsya - Hanuman
             sakhya - Arjuna
             Atmanivedana - Bali

We all know the story of all these Bhaghavathas & how they worshiped Sri
Hari. Practically, in Kaliyuga, the only way possible to be devoted to Sri
Hari is only by becoming a dAsa.

There are many songs sung by Sri Purandara dAsaru & other HaridAsa koota who
have sung on this Navavidha Bhakthi.

dAsanna mAdiko yenna, swami,

Shobha Srinivasan
