Dear Sri Thirumanjanam Sundara Rajan Swamy:
adiyEn deeply appreciates the wonderful posting
of Yours on Sri Ranga's diverse abodes.
Thanks very much.
The Name Hema Rangan for Thirukkudanathai AarAvamudhan
is linked with Him marrying Sri KomaLavalli , who incarnated
as the daughter of Hema Maharshi , who lived on the banks of
Hema PushkaraNi at Thirukkudanthai.
The Thirukkudanthai Sthala PurANam celebrates
" Sri RanganAthA's " arrival on a chariot from
heaven to marry Hema Maharishi's daughter in response
to the sage's penance to have The Lord as his
son-in-law (Similar Sthala PurANam at Oppiliappan
Sannidhi , where the Lord ThiruviNNagarappan
responded to the prayer of MaarkaNDEya Maha Rishi).
The Vaidhika VimAnam at Thirukkudanathai is
in the form of a chariot drawn by divine horses
even today. At this Dhivya Desam , He is prathyaksham
to Hema Maharishi. That is where the name originated
as the Rangan dear to hema Maharishi , who raised
KomaLavalli , who incarnated on a golden Lotus
at PoRRAmaRaikkuLam at Thirukkdanthai.
Lord AarAvamudhan's VimAnam is Vaidhika VimAnam ,
" a twin of the PraNavAkAra VimAnam " according to
the Sthala PurANam .
