Dear Bhagavathas:

Sunday April 5, 1998 is Sri Ramanavami.  It is also the 93rd
Thirunakshatiram of H.H. Sri Thirukkudanthai Andavan. (Sri Vedantha Ramanuja
Mahadesikan of Srirangam Srimad Andavan Ashramam).

Srirangam Srimad Andavan Ashramam has been the center for spreading the
philosophy of Sri Vaishnavism and Prapaththi Marga (Saranagathi) founded and
propagated by Sri Bhagavath  Ramanuja and nurtured by Sri Nigamantha
Mahadesika several centuries ago. Illustrious Acharyas have adorned the
Peetam for over the past 300 years.

During the reign of H.H. Srimad Thirukkudanthai Andavan from 1963 to 1989,
branches of Srirangam Ashramam were established in New Delhi, Madras,
Bombay, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Neyveli, Melkote, Hrishikesh, Kumbakonam etc.
Kalyana Mandapams were annexed to these Ashram premises to help poorer and
weaker sections. Many new temples were built and several old temples were
renovated. H.H. Srimad Andavan undertook the construction of the massive
second tier of the South Rajagopuram at Srirangam. The Sarangapani temple
chariot at Kumbakonam was repaired and the car festival was resumed in 1984
after a gap of 48 years. Ayurvedic dispensaries were established in 1975 to
afford free treatment to the poorer sections.

The Acharya traversed throughout Bharat to bless the sishyas at their places
covering over 40,000 kms. by padayatra only. The Acharya established the Sri
Ranganatha Paduka Vidhyalaya which recently completed silver jubilee. The
Vidhyalaya currently has a strength of 54 Vidyarthis and 10 teaching staff.

Sri Ramanuja Mission, Inc. is celebrating both the functions on April 5,
1998 with Thiruaradhana to Salagramas & PadukaÂ’s of H.H. Srimad
Thirukkudanthai Andavan and Parayanam.  The function is going to be held at
