Adiyen wish to differ with respect to your word that IlayAlwar was
accompanied by Thirukachi Nambi to see Alavandar ,
It was PeriaNambi who took Ilaya Alwar to SriRangam .
The story as you might know already that, when Alavandar was in sarama
disay, he wanted to meet Ilaya Alwar and hence he asked PeriaNambi to go to
Kanchi to bring Ilaya Alwar ,
Peria Nambi just recited the thanian of Alavandar , which made the total
transformation in Ilayalwar and Swamy was more interested in meeting
Alavandar, then both of them went back to SriRangam, when they reach
Karambanoor, they saw Alavandar's final rites going on, after that as you
mentioned Alavandar's folded fingers story, finally Ilaya Alwar returned
back to Kanchi without having Dharsan of Namperumal, for the simple reason
that he could not get his Acharyan's dharsan.

Sorry for elaborating the details and I never mean to hurt you and just want
to mention what I heard thru Upanyasam..
