SrI VAsudevan:

I was fortunate enough to listen to the upanyAsam on triuppAvai (which
is an on-going monthly event) by SrIrangam ANDavan svAmi (SrI
ra'ngarAmAnuja mahAdeSikan) last month.  He went into detail on the
significance of mArgazhi.  He addrdessed the issue of why worldly
events such as marriages etc. are not performed on the month of
mArgazhi.  This month is considered the brahma muhUrtam for deva-s, and
this is the most appropriate time for meditation and worship of
bhagavAn, and for undertaking the kinds of activities that will get us
relieved from the bondage and cycle of samsAra (these are my own words,
and not necessarily the exact words of SrImad ANDavan.  This is also
one of the reasons why ANDAL chose this month for her nOnbu.
